Summary

Front-slope inspection on a 22-year-old 3-tab shingle roof. Wind damage along the ridge from the storm 9 days ago - about 18 shingles lifted or torn. Decking under the ridge area is dry; no sign of leaks inside. Flashing around the chimney is rusted and needs replacement regardless of insurance. Customer mentioned the adjuster is scheduled Thursday at 2pm. Quote needs to include emergency tarp option in case Thursday gets pushed.

Damage observed

Front slope: 18 shingles lifted or torn along the ridge cap. Two missing tabs near the south-east corner. Ridge cap entirely needs replacement. Flashing around the chimney shows rust through and should be replaced regardless of insurance outcome. Gutters intact, no visible debris build-up. Underlayment visible through one tear - appears dry, no signs of saturated decking.

What the customer wants

Insurance is going to drive timing. Adjuster on Thursday 2pm. Customer wants a tarp option in the quote so if it rains before the adjuster gets here we can protect the interior. Also asked about upgrading to architectural shingles if insurance allows - would pay the difference out of pocket.
