AI Credits — how they work
Every plan in RadiusOS includes a monthly pool of AI credits. One credit = one AI action. The same pool covers scoring, drafted follow-ups, score explanations, contact enrichment, semantic search, the in-product Ask RadiusOS chat, and AI-flavored MCP tool calls. You decide how to spend them.
Credits per plan
| Plan | Credits per workspace per month | Practical headroom |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 75 | About 30 score refreshes + 20 drafts + 25 chat questions per month |
| Pro $19/mo | 300 | Most solo operators won't hit this cap |
| Business $39/mo | Unlimited (~5K fair-use ceiling) | For workspaces running heavy AI workflows |
| Team $69/mo | Unlimited (~10K fair-use ceiling) | For multi-member teams |
Credits reset on the 1st of each calendar month. Unused credits do not roll over. Fair-use ceilings on Business and Team are soft — we'll reach out before enforcing if your usage is genuinely outside the model.
What costs a credit
Each of these consumes 1 credit from your monthly pool:
- **Refreshing an AI score** on a contact (clicking "Refresh AI Score")
- **Generating a drafted follow-up email** (the AI Compose button on a contact)
- **Asking the in-product chat** a question (⌘/ to open Ask RadiusOS)
- **Running a semantic search** across your notes, emails, and comments
- **Enriching a contact** (Business + Team feature)
- **Score explanations** (the "Why this score?" detail view)
- **AI-flavored MCP tool calls** from external clients like Claude Desktop, Cursor, or ChatGPT — specifically `ai-suggest-action` and `search-notes`
AI score refreshes that fall back to rule-based behavior (e.g., when the global free-tier dollar cap is reached) do not consume a credit. You're charged for what we actually computed.
What does NOT cost a credit
Pure CRM operations are free forever, on every plan, with no metering:
- Creating, editing, deleting contacts, companies, deals, tasks, notes, tags
- Sending plain emails through your connected Gmail (no AI drafting)
- Moving contacts between pipeline stages
- Logging activity, scheduling, creating quotes and invoices
- Reading, listing, searching with keyword (not semantic) search
- All MCP tools that don't invoke Anthropic: `search-contacts`, `list-pipeline`, `create-task`, `move-contact-stage`, `create-quote`, `mark-invoice-paid`, etc.
- The morning AI digest summary on your dashboard (computed in batch, doesn't draw from individual workspace pools)
This means you can connect Claude Desktop to RadiusOS on the Free plan and run dozens of CRUD operations per day at zero credit cost. Credits only matter when you reach for AI specifically.
Out of credits — what happens
When your monthly pool is exhausted, AI surfaces gracefully degrade:
- **In-product chat (⌘/)** returns a friendly message pointing you to upgrade
- **Score refresh button** still works but uses rule-based scoring instead of Claude
- **AI draft compose** falls back to a plain compose window
- **MCP AI tools** return an upgrade-prompt error to the AI client
- **Pure CRM operations continue working normally** — credits never gate your ability to run your business
If you're consistently running out of credits on the Free or Pro tier, that's a strong signal you'd benefit from upgrading. Business at $39/mo is the natural step up — unlimited AI plus enrichment, semantic search, advanced reporting, and the proactive Morning Digest.
Why we did it this way
Most CRMs lock AI behind a paywall. Notion gave away a 20-action lifetime trial. Cursor gives 2,000 free completions per month. Linear includes basic AI agents on the free tier. RadiusOS lands on the generous side because we want you to feel the value before you pay — not after.
The unified credit pool also means we don't have to invent dozens of feature-specific limits ("5 drafts/mo, 10 score refreshes/mo, 3 chat conversations/mo"). One number, one mental model, you spend it however you want. If you live in the chat, that's where it goes. If you only use scoring, that's where it goes.
Pure CRM stays free forever because the alternative — counting clicks against a CRUD quota — would feel insulting and would make RadiusOS unusable as your primary pipeline tool. AI is the upgrade. CRM is the floor.
