Getting Paid: Connect Your Bank
Connect your bank through Stripe and send customers a link they can pay from their phone. The money goes straight into your account. RadiusOS never holds it.
Where the money goes
This is the part people ask about first, so it is the first thing here: customer payments go directly into your own account. They do not pass through RadiusOS and sit in our balance waiting for us to pay you out. We are not in the middle of money between you and your customers.
What that means in practice is that nothing you are owed depends on us. Your payouts run on your own Stripe account's schedule, you can see every payment and payout in Stripe whenever you want, and if you stopped using RadiusOS tomorrow the account and the money in it would still be yours.
Settings has two money screens and they are different. Billing is what you pay us for RadiusOS. Payments is how your customers pay you.
Setting it up
Open Settings and go to Payments
Settings, then Payments under Account. Only the account owner can set this up or change it, so if you do not see the buttons, someone else on your account holds the owner role.
Click Set up payments
This takes you to Stripe, who handle the money side. We fill in what we already know about your business so you type less, but Stripe will ask for the rest themselves.
Answer Stripe's questions
Stripe has to verify who you are before anyone is allowed to take card payments. Expect your legal business name, your tax number, your bank details, and a photo of your ID. It takes about five minutes if you have those to hand. This is a legal requirement on Stripe, not a RadiusOS step we could skip.
Come back and check
Stripe sends you back here when you are done. Most accounts are approved straight away. If the screen still says you need to finish, hit Check again: Stripe sometimes takes a minute to catch up.
Sending a customer a payment link
Open the invoice
Any invoice that is not cancelled. Open it from the customer's record or from the Invoices list.
Choose Copy payment link from the three-dot menu
The link goes on your clipboard. Text it, email it, or paste it wherever you already talk to that customer. The option only appears once Stripe has approved you, because a link before then would show a button that cannot work.
The customer taps it and pays
They see your business name and logo, the line items, what is owed, and one button. No account, no app, no sign-up. Card details go straight to Stripe: you never see them and neither do we.
The invoice updates itself
The payment shows on the invoice within a few seconds, and the invoice marks itself paid once nothing is left owing. If they pay part of it, the invoice shows what is still due and the same link takes them back to pay the rest.
Each invoice has one payment link at a time. Making a new one stops the old one working, so if you already sent a link, resend that one rather than making another. RadiusOS asks you to confirm before it replaces a live link.
What each status means
The Payments screen always tells you exactly where you stand.
| What it says | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Get paid from your invoices | You have not started yet. Customers cannot pay you online. | Click Set up payments. |
| Finish setting up payments | You started but Stripe still needs something. Customers cannot pay you yet. | Click Finish setup and answer the rest. |
| Payments are paused | Stripe is checking something, or has asked for a document. Customers cannot pay you until it is sorted. | Open Stripe and see what they are asking for. |
| Customers can pay you | Payments work. Your first payout is still being set up, which is normal in the first few days. | Nothing. Money you take now is safe and lands once that clears. |
| Payments are on | Everything works. Payments land in your bank on Stripe's normal schedule. | Nothing. |
Stripe can pause payments later, on its own, if a document expires or it wants another look at something. If that happens this screen will say so. Check it if a customer tells you a payment would not go through.
What it costs
Stripe charges its own card processing fee on each payment, which comes out before the money reaches you. Their current rates are on stripe.com and they are the same rates you would get going to Stripe directly.
This is included on every RadiusOS plan. There is no separate charge from us for taking payments.
Who can change this
Only the account owner. Everyone on your account can see whether payments are working, because a technician wondering why a customer could not pay deserves an answer, but changing where the money lands is owner-only.
That is deliberate. Someone who can raise an invoice should not be able to redirect where its money goes.
